Know about the special TV trends of 2018

Televisions are changing drastically with every coming year. In 2018, the special trends noted in the television sector have gravitated towards bigger screen sizes, with OLED TVs still at the top. The year has also witnessed an astounding increase in the amount of UHD and HDR picture quality being introduced in the televisions. The streaming services that gained popularity with Netflix in 2017 have now become commonplace, and the viewers have multiple choices at their fingertips with regards to entertainment.

Know about the special TV trends of 2018
This is all thanks to the latest TVs and service providers. With half of the year already gone, most of the trend predictions have come true and some are still awaited. Following are some of the top TV special trends of 2018.

More TVs with HDR
2017 saw a growth in the number of TVs being launched with HDR. The same trend was expected to continue in 2018, and so far all the major brands have done just that. Last year, only a handful of the high-end TVs were capable of delivering excellent HDR quality. However, in 2018, even the lower segment TVs have nuanced shadow details and enhanced the brightness levels which is reminiscent of HDR-quality content.

Improvement in voice integration
It was predicted that in 2018 many TVs will offer the voice integration option, whereby users can give commands to the TV. This prediction has come true with many top brands integrating the Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa in their TVs, making them easily controllable through voice commands. Today, users can change channels, adjust the volume, and do so much more with their TVs with just the sound of their voice.

Increase in popularity of international brands
International brands, especially those based in China, have been dominating the TV market for a long time now. In 2018, the predictions were that they will aggressively market their products and penetrate even further in the sector. TCL and Hisense have managed to do just that with their low-cost, high-quality TVs. TCL, in particular, has found a strong footing in the country with its arrival in the Best Buy stores.

Price decrease in 4K TV segment
All the updates and inventions in the TV industry have led to a reduction in the prices of the TVs that are available in the market right now. 4K TV was an expensive product two years ago when the technology was first launched. However, now one will easily find affordable 4K TVs of all sizes and across all brands. Therefore, if users have always wanted to buy a 4K TV, this year is a good time to do it. This is the time when the prices are affordable and they will further reduce in 2019 with the introduction of 8K TVs.

Introduction of 8K TVs
Samsung made a TV specials announcement in June that it will be launching 8K TVs by the end of this year. The company will be launching these TVs in 65-inch, 75-inch, 82-inch, and 98-inch variants. Samsung has also mentioned that these TVs will be launched as 120Hz refresh rate models. The first series of 8K TVs will be launched later in 2018, and the second series will be launched in 2019. The second series is predicted to come with 60Hz refresh rates.
