Maruti Baleno – Top Features and Costs
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a popular premium hatchback automobile that offers a well-balanced blend of performance, utility and comfort to its customers. This five-seater is available in a range of drive options and configurations, making it uniquely suited for every need. The car features a spacious and practical interior and offers stellar fuel efficiency, along with a range of safety and driver assistance features, ensuring a comfortable and secure on-road experience.
Features of the Maruti Baleno
1. Engine, braking and performance
The Maruti Baleno 2024 is offered with only one engine option— the 1.2l naturally-aspirated L K Series Dual Jet petrol engine with Dual VVT (dual variable valve timing) with an Idle Start Stop (ISS) system. This machine is capable of producing 90 hp and 113 Nm of torque for a solid performance on roads. Buyers can pair this with a 5-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission, based on their preferences. The car offers a fuel efficiency of 22.35 km/l and 22.94 km/l with each of these transmissions, respectively. It also features upgraded 14-inch braking and suspension systems for a smoother ride and a Hydraulic Clutch system that improves shift performance and clutch life.
To promote the use of green fuel in the country, the car also has an S-CNG variant that has a tank capacity of 55l and a fuel economy of 30.6 km/kg.
2. Interiors
Inside the Baleno 2024, buyers are greeted with a host of new-age features, including a head-up display, a 22.86 cm HD Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system, a 360-view camera and more (on select trims). The brand has reimagined comfort with an upgraded design that includes smooth, natural and aesthetically pleasing flow lines, along with dual-tone interiors and black inserts. Height-adjustable driver’s seats are standard across all trims.
What truly stands out about the Baleno’s interior design is its thoughtful convenience— from a sliding central armrest for the driver to rear fast-charging and rear air conditioning— the car boldly offers it all.
3. Exteriors
Nexa focuses heavily on the Liquid Flow Aesthetic for the Baleno and the exteriors reflect just that. The car has a wide and dynamic road presence, with three major philosophical pillars leading the way—NEXpression (as evidenced by the designing and styling of the headlamps, NEXwave grille, NEXTre’ LED DRLs and alloy wheels), NEXtech (range of futuristic technologies), and NEXperiences. For a premium drive, the car has been fitted with 16-inch precision-cut alloy wheels that further elevate the Baleno’s appearance.
4. Displays and infotainment
For the first time in this segment, the Baleno introduces a Head-up display that allows drivers to check turn-by-turn navigation, speed, RPM, fuel economy, AC functions, warning notifications and more without ever taking their eyes off the road.
The 2024 Baleno also has a renewed dashboard with a multi-information display that shows a plethora of options on multiple screens. Track details such as G force, acceleration and braking stats, ISS performance, fuel quantity saved, engine power, torque usage, range, fuel efficiency and consumption history and more with the handy display right on the dashboard.
On the higher trims, buyers also get the larger SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment display, which has a rather intuitive interface and a Surround Sense Acoustic tuning experience powered by ARKAMYS. Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto capabilities are also included.
5. Safety features
The Baleno gets six airbags (front, side and curtain) that significantly enhance passenger safety in the event of an accident. Maruti has also focused on the car’s stability to offer a secure drive in any weather. Apart from these, safety features on the Baleno also include an electronic stability program (ESP) with hill hold assists, ISOFIX mounts, a speed alert system, seat belt reminders for all occupants, reverse parking sensors and more.
The manufacturer has gone the extra mile to include additional safety features such as emergency alerts, breakdown notifications, stolen vehicle notification and tracking, tow away and tracking, geo-fence, time fence and valet alerts that help keep one’s investment secure in all circumstances. Please note that some of these features are only available on the top models of the Maruti Baleno 2024.
6. Connectivity
Owners can stay connected to their cars 24/7 with the Suzuki Connect app— an advanced telematics solution that allows users to remotely control the car’s headlamps, hazard lights, doors, alarms and engine immobiliser. One can also use this to monitor the Baleno’s battery health, reducing the risk of breakdowns on the road. This feature is compatible with Alexa Skill and some smartwatches, letting owners keep track of their cars whenever they like.
