The latest iPhone 12 Pro 5G – Display and camera specs

The display and the camera system are considered the most important elements that one considers before buying any smartphone. Apple recently launched its new lineup of iPhone 12, and we must say, all of them boast a pretty impressive display and camera setup. Particularly, the premium models— iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max— outperform almost every other smartphone when it comes to these two prime features. Herein, we take a closer look at the display quality and camera of the new iPhone 12 Pro 5G.

The latest iPhone 12 Pro 5G – Display and camera specs

Display

The latest iPhone 12 Pro 5G features an impressively large, 6.1” display. This is an improvement over the 5.8” screen that we saw last year on the iPhone 11 Pro. The display type is Super Retina XDR, which improves the brightness and naturality of colors and images on the screen. The screen has a resolution of 2532 x 1170 with a density of 460 pixels per inch.

The display offers HDR support with a whopping 1200 nits peak brightness, a 2 million to one contrast ratio, True Tone, and more. What’s even more impressive is that the display is protected by a ceramic shield glass, which offers 4x improved drop performance. Apple claims that the ceramic shield cover, packed with nano-ceramic crystals, is tougher than any smartphone glass, making the iPhone 12 Pro 5G exceptionally durable.

Camera

Like last year’s iPhone 11 Pro, Apple has again equipped the latest iPhone 12 Pro 5G with a triple-lens camera system. The phone features a wide, telephoto, and ultrawide camera lenses — all 12-megapixel shooters. However, this time, the wide camera features the new f/1.6 aperture, which Apple says is the fastest ever on an iPhone and offers 27% better performance in low lighting conditions. The 52mm focal length Telephoto lens, on the other hand, offers a 4x optical zoom range, while the ultrawide lens with the 120-degree field of view is great for capturing expansive landscapes.

Interestingly, the newly introduced LiDAR scanner in the new iPhone 12 Pro improves autofocus by 6x in low-light scenes and lets users take night mode portrait pictures, conveniently. Fantastic news for aspiring filmmakers — the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max are the only smartphones in the world that offer an end-to-end experience for HDR video with Dolby Vision, up to 60 frames per second, and enhanced video stabilization, taking the video-production skills to another level.

For those planning to buy or upgrade to the latest iPhone 12 Pro 5G, the phone is available for pre-order at a starting price of $999 from October 16th.
